Melancholy Images of Manuscript Forgotten: an Original of Jorge Amado

Abstract

In 2011, professor Leonor SCLIAR Cabral (UFSC) donated a suitcase of documents that belonged to the Bahian writer Jorge Amado. The suitcase of documents belonged to the mother of the researcher, whose material was the result of his friendship with Jorge Amado maintained during the short period of the New State policy in the years 1941-1942, in the cities of Buenos Aires and Montevideo. These manuscripts reveal the author's memory archivist Bahia, elucidating the size of existing historical-fiction in his early novels, allowing the researcher interested in knowing the genetic mishaps and contexts of its production. During a visit to the Center for Literature and Memory, housed at the Federal University of Santa Catarina, coordinated by Professor Dr. Tania Oliveira Ramos had access to the contents of these materials were made available to participants for their discipline: The historiography of Brazilian literature.
