Information mediation actions in the archiving and library university: the search for active participation of users

The archivist and the librarian, as mediators of information, act, construct and interfere in the support to the users and in their formation in the search, access, use and appropriation of the information. The general objective of this research was to analyze how the actions of mediation and information and knowledge management developed in the Bernadete Sinay Neves Library and the Arlindo Coelho Fragoso Memorial of the Universidade Federal da Bahia can attract and strengthen ties with the users, so that these actions can also be deployed and / or reflected in the communication devices, in order to generate greater approximation with the user.
Methodology: this descriptive research, which had the case study method, applied online questionnaires to the managers, students and researchers who work and / or frequent the environments.
Conclusion: The relevance of the expansion of the services and products developed by the Library and in the Memorial, as well as the improvement of the information mediation actions already developed in order to measure satisfaction and respond to users' expectations is confirmed.
