Abstract

The present study aims to identify the metadata applied to the musical scores in the collections of Chiquinha Gonzaga and Tom Jobim, in order to propose a model of accurate description of the musical documents. The method of bibliographic research and documentary research is adopted, the last of which is based on the sampling of items in the collections. As a result, the suggestion of metadata included in the archival and musical category is presented in order to constitute the description model with the following metadata: progress, arranger, composer, bar, creation date, publication date, dedication, copyright, publishing, documental species, expressiveness, form, documental genre, musical genre, instrumentation, language, lyricist, observation note, pages, number of bars, recording technique, title, tone and versionist. Finally, it is concluded that in addition to proposing a model of description with metadata that are specifically applicable to documents of the documental genre Musicographic, the study also contributes to highlight the reflection on how Archival Science is collaborative and applicable to musicographic documents.
